Not only did she do an EXCELLENT job, but she really listens to what you want out of it and not just her ideas. She is very professional, neat and very talented. I had asked her to come up with some dancing images since I am dancer but I did not expect what she came up with. On my 2 palms were 2 dancers in full costume so detailed that you could see their eyelashes! On one of my forearms was Goddess Saraswati with a veena and on the other forearm was a devotee showering flowers. All my wedding guests were completely floored with the design. I lived with her for 4 years as a housemate (paying guest), so I think that qualifies me to give a pretty in-depth review of her mehndi-work as well as her personality. When I was living with her, she took care of me just like her daughter, even though we were housemates. She is very caring and sweet. She always went out of her way to cook for me and take care of me when I was sick. I moved out of her place just about 2 months ago after I got married. I wouldn’t have entrusted anyone but Ravididi to do my mehndi. Everyone absolutely loved it including my husband ?. She’s very dedicated to her craft. For example, she flew all the way to Virginia for it despite being down with the flu. When I saw her I could not believe how sick she was and told her to just do mine and not to worry about others. She did my entire hands/legs just in 3 and a half hours and people (from U.S. as well as India) were shocked watching how quick and precise she was. Not only that, she also did my mom, aunt and sister in law’s mehndi as she had promised. Her designs are very intricate and detailed and she is capable of doing any kind of designs that you want. For example, I wanted a dulha-dulhan and ganesh in my design and she did an excellent job without even looking at any pictures. It was outstanding! I have pictures of it that I will post on here soon.
She is very dedicated, professional and provides great customer service. I have always seen her spending a lot of time with each bride when they come for consultation. Mehndi is probably the second most important thing in her life after her daughter. Whether she is sick or tired and sleep-deprived or whether she has no one to baby-sit her daughter, she WILL be there for your big day.
Ah, how can I forget all these beautiful candles she makes? I used it as my wedding favors and everyone loved it. If you have not seen it, you should def. give it a look. She selects the top-grade candles and creates beautiful henna designs on them. These henna candles are her invention; they are truly unique and beautiful. I believe many people have tried to copy her candle designs in the past, but it doesn’t even compare with Ravididi’s artistic creation. Not only that but she wraps her candles with a very fine paper and packs it in a very elegant box. You will be awed by the final product!

She was so much in demand with the public for her mehindi art. I am yet to meet an artist with such finesse, and such an exquisite talent. She has contributed so much towards all the Indian exhibitions, public events elsewhere and even today I have people ask for her contact number. I celebrate her talent, her art and I wish her every success in her new ventures with the design of her beautiful candles. I know she will go a long way and will excel in whatever she does.

Ravie is an OUTSTANDING artist. She did an amazing job on my mendhi for my wedding. She is very very professional and dedicated to her work. She kept her appointment with me even though she had an important family commitment come up last minute and was not feeling well. My mendhi was absoultely amazing - the color turned out perfect and everyone was in awe of her work! Since the below reviews sing the appropriate praises about her artistry and talent (which are, needless to say, exceptional), I will sing her praises regarding professionalism. She replies promptly to inquiries. She confirms multiple times so you have no insecurities about her reliability. She sends you instructions as to how to prepare for your bridal mendhi and what to have on hand to make it go smoothly. She brings exactly what she describes with another instruction sheet on what to do after the mendi is done. She is pleasant and engaging, but not intrusive or bossy, at the party itself. She works quickly and efficiently and arrives exactly on time. The result is beautiful mendi and a stress-free process. Would never hire anyone else. I recommend her without reservations.

In September 2007 I attended a Mehendi party for a friend getting married. I was very impressed with the artist, Ravie Kattaura. She did a spectacular job on the bride's hands and feet, making such intricate details with speed and ease. I have had henna tatoos before, but the one Ms. Kattaura did on my leg was the best and lasted a long time. If I ever need henna again I will definitely choose Ravie Kattaura.

Ravie is the best mehndi artist I've ever seen. When searching for the right mehndi artist for my wedding mehndi, Ravie was by far the best out of all the artists I had trials with. Her designs are elegant, delicate and intricate, and if you follow her instructions, your mehndi will turn out super dark, beautiful and defined. She is very sweet and easy going, and completely takes care of you on the day of your mehndi. I highly recommend Ravie for all mehndi designs!

I have known Ravie for the past 12 years or so and I can state without any hesitation that she is one of the sweetest professionals I have ever worked with. Ravie has graced our house on many Diwali occasions and treated more than 100 ladies of all ages to her Mehendi art. Ravie is one of the best artists that I have known, who approaches her work with dedication, more as an art form, not just as a mere business. The first time I saw Ravie Kattaura doing henna work, was at the De Young Museum in San Francisco. She was sitting in a corner doing henna for the many people that came into the museum that weekend. I'll never forget the man standing in front of us asked her, "How good are you? Can you copy that tree behind you on my arm?" and Ravie simply nodded her head yes. She then proceeded to henna his whole arm to replicate the tree behind her. My eyes bugged out of my head when I saw how detailed, precise and quick she was. The whole design took no more than seven minutes! From then on, we had Ravie do every henna party we ever had!
Every single time I have had a henna design done by Ravie, I just tell her to do anything she wants. Every single time, it turns out amazing. The best creation Ravie has done is her candles. I probably have 10 of them in different parts of my home. If you want to liven up your home, I strongly urge you to purchase some. The prices are reasonable because these candles last forever and ever! The tea light inside them allows you to light them and keep the henna design intact on the outside. It's the most genius idea I've seen!
If you want the best henna designs in the bay area, Ravie is your best bet! You won't be dissapointed!

This was my first time getting henna and my experience was amazing!!
I went with 2 friends and sat in awe as she worked on one of my friends before it was my turn. The intricate detail was just gorgeous. My friend got the henna on her back, and feet. Our other friend and I got the henna on our hands.
I couldn't believe how quickly she applied the henna, especially with how detailed the patterns were. Ravie Kattaura is an extremely talented artist!
For the whole time the henna was on me, even when it began to fade, I continuously got compliments on it. People stopped me everywhere wondering what it was and where I got it. Everyone who had seen henna artwork before said this was the best they had seen. I am not exaggerating at all. I only wish I could post photos to show how beautiful it was!
When the weather warms up again, we hope to get it again!

I have gotten henna done twice by Ravie Kattaura and the work has been absolutely amazing! Not only is she sweet, she works hard to create work that is pleasing to the desires of her customer. I have gotten henna numerous times and if I had a choice of my artist I would chose Ravie Kattaura. Also I find that her henna is dark and lasts long In addition, she is knowledgable about her art for peope are new and gives an amazing introduction to henna for those who want to learn more. Her designs are also quite remarkable. Both times I got work done I have received numerous compliments. I highly recommend her for any henna needs.
